COURSES AND TRAINING

The Level 2 Diploma in Care (RQF) has been developed to support learners already working in or hoping to enter either the health or adult care sectors, and will give them the competence to operate effectively.

The qualification is suitable for roles such as adult care workers, healthcare assistants, support workers and personal assistants. It can also support the Adult Care Worker apprenticeship standard and may support delivery of the Healthcare Support Worker apprenticeship standard.

The objective of this qualification is to support a role in the workplace, such as lead adult care workers, lead personal assistants, care supervisors or community support workers to name a few. This qualification forms the competence requirements for those learners working in adult care settings at level 3.

Learners will have responsibility for providing person-centred, values-driven care and support for those accessing a service. The learner will work under the direction of a manager or supervisor but will have a degree of autonomy. As well as demonstrating best practice, they will be working towards promoting and modelling it. Learners may or may not have supervisory responsibilities for others.

Learners will most likely be working in the following settings:

• residential or nursing homes
• domiciliary care
• day centres
• healthcare

This  Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Adult Care (RQF) (England) which has been developed for those who manage care and support services within the adult care sector (England).

The qualification aims to develop learners' knowledge and skills in leading and managing adult social care provision and teams, responsibilities of leaders and managers, improvement and innovation, communication, values and behaviours, health and safety and professional behaviours of leaders and managers.

Speaking, listening and communication

This component is internally assessed and quality assured by the centre and externally moderated.

Learners must complete 2 assessed tasks:

• a presentation and Q&A
• a group discussion
• Tutors/assessors record observational evidence of the assessment on the

Reading

Learners must complete 1 written examination that is set, marked and moderated by the Awarding body

Writing

Learners must complete 1 written examination that is set, marked and moderated by the Awarding Body.

The reading and writing examinations will be available on demand in either on screen or paper-based formats.

FULLY ACCREDITED

This qualification consists of 2 mandatory components. Learners must complete both the Non-Calculator and Calculator written examinations that are set, marked and moderated by the Awarding Body. The assessments will test a learner’s representing, analysing and interpreting skills using numbers, geometry and statistics in realistic contexts.

Mathematics examinations are available on-demand in either on-screen or paper-based format.
